Maruti Suzuki India has launched the all new WagonR in India. The new model features a big smile shaped front grille with all new clear lens head lamps and new round shaped fog lamps. The makeover is almost same like we have seen recently in the New Estilo. New WagonR also gets new headlamps, new tail lamps, new front/rear bumpers, new design for alloys/wheel covers and all new interiors.

Design of New Maruti WagonR

The new model of WagonR looks much better than the current generation WagonR. New WagonR is based on the very Japanese way of creating cars, gone are the boxy looks, the shape of New WagonR is more rounded. Maruti Suzuki India has christened the New WagonR as ‘The Blue-Eyed-Boy’ as it features smart looking blue tinge in the big headlamps. This time the facelift is quite major as Maruti engineers has used all new chassis which is wider that the last generation one and hence the new WagonR looks wide and more proportionate than the old WagonR.

The grille of new WagonR looks very sleek with a chrome strip on top with big Suzuki logo in centre. The front and rear bumpers are also new with a big air dam in front bumpers which also features integrated round fog lamps. The side of new WagonR is more or less same like the old model with side strips on the doors. The top model of new WagonR features body coloured bumpers, door handles and outside rear view mirrors. At the rear new WagonR gets all new tail lamps which are slightly bigger in size and resembles the tail lamps of 2010 Suzuki WagonR model recently launched in Japan. New WagonR also features a horizontal chrome strip which gives it a upmarket look. The third stop lamp is well integrated in the hatch and the top model of new WagonR also comes with roof rails. All in all new WagonR looks better in terms of design and styling than the 2009 model of WagonR.

Interiors of New Maruti WagonR

The interiors of new WagonR also gets new combination for door trims and new upholstery for the seats. The interiors have been improved and now sport dual tone combination with aluminum touches all around. The steering wheel has been borrowed from the Swift and the centre console is rectangular in shape and the top variants are going to feature dash integrated music system with factory fitted speakers.

New Maruti Suzuki WagonR is powered by Bharat Stage IV compliant 998cc KB series engine which develops maximum power of 67 Bhp at 6200 rpm with maximum torque of 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. The new KB series is exactly the same engine which powers the Maruti Suzuki A-star. It is produced at the company's Gurgaon facility. Mercedes SLS AMG On Sale in Germany, Rs. 1.5 Crore Price

Mercedes SLS AMG is already on sale in Germany now. The car is priced at 177,900 Euros or approximately Rs.1.19 crores. “Following a high-profile world premiere at the IAA, we are very excited about the SLS AMG’s commercial release,” said Volker Mornhinweg, chairman of the company’s management board. Mercedes is also planning to bring the model to Indian market in the next year with an approximate price tag of Rs. 1.5 crores. The gull-wing-model is one of the most eye-catching ones though definitely not one of the most expensive ones. Maruti Suzuki new WagonR was first launched in 1993 in Japan. The WagonR made its Indian debut in 2001. Design & Interiors of New Maruti Alto

New Maruti Alto is based on the Wagon R's platform but has an identity of its own. It has a clean silhouette and a minimalist design minus any frippery. A chunky front bumper, a dashing front grille and a bold 'S' badge are among the new design cues on the front fascia. The ride quality of New Maruti Alto is pleasant and comfortable but handling does not exactly measure up. Steering is spongy at times. The stiff suspension of New Alto soaks up bumps quite well and Brakes are hugely responsive too. A stiff chassis gives the Alto its fabulous driving character.

New Alto's interiors are very basic with simple dashboard, with provision for the stereo in a very common position. New Alto gets dual tone treatment for the centre console. The controls for the air conditioning are the new design rotary type, with the sliding type controls found on the non-AC model. In Lx & Lxi cariants seat come in fabric and the quality is quite good and so are the colors and the graphics used. The doors of New Alto don't have map pockets at the side; neither is there a decent enough number of cup holders. The instrument cluster has a big white speedometer in centre flanked by the new digital fuel gauge and odometer.

Volkswagen Vento is new sedan based on newly launched VW polo platform and will feature same 1.6 litre petrol engine.

Main competitor for Vento is popular Honda city @ same price range and others like Chevrolet Optra Magnum and Toyota Corolla Altis. The drive, handling, interiors and exteriors of the VW Vento have been developed keeping in mind the Indian Conditions.

Neeraj Garg, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India, said: “The way we were competitive when we launched the hatchback (Polo), similarly, we will be competitive in terms of value proposition and impact segment with the sedan. We are a premium brand with premium products and do not intend to be in the price-sensitive segment.”

Vento will be available in Petrol and Diesel variant (Manual and automatic transmission) and will manufactured at Chakan, near Pune.
